If you connect with IIT JEE topper they can guide you properly on which books you should follow for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. NCERT books are basically designed for JEE examination. Although this book will help you to prepare for any engineering entrance exam. Many JEE experts suggest this book and say NCERT is sufficient to pass JEE Mains. First start your preparation with NCERT books for each subject. Read each line properly. The language of this book is easy to understand and these books come in compact size so you can easily finish the whole book. Make your own notes while reading and then start solving previous years question paper. You can use H C Verma for physics, RC Mukherjee for physical chemistry and RD Sharma for maths. Only these much books are enough for JEE Mains. But from the JEE Advanced point of view you need to study the concepts deeply. Many application based and conceptual questions are asked in JEE Advanced and also level of questions is tough. For Advanced level you can use Cengage books, Mathematical Olympiad to practice maths problems. For Chemistry you can use N Awasthi, J D Lee and MS Chauhan. For Physics you can use DC Panday, Irodov, Krotov to solve problems.
