While pressure and competition is often one of the common
factors of most success stories. You have to understand that it is
good only when it is in the right amount.
You have set ambitious goals for yourself and you see that people
around you are doing better than you. This is a double problem.
Only one of them is enough pressure.
What you need is the right amount of pressure at the right time to
drive you. You probably can’t expect that from your teachers. It
would be too much personal attention. You have to do the trick
yourself. Try to detach yourself. Yes, that sounds a little weird. But
try to think of yourself as a third person and analyze your
competence and comfort zone. Bypass external pressure and filter it
just outside your comfort zone. Note that with this your goal is not
IIT JEE or Olympiads, it’s just a bit more than you can do.
Now this may sound like a vaguely logical theory. It’s because it is.
I’ve never done it myself. But that seems to be what you need.
