What is the change in the syllabus of the JEE Advanced 2023? Are there any topics included or excluded?
Changes in the JEE Advanced Math New Syllabus 2023
The key changes in the JEE Advanced Math new syllabus from 2023 are the addition of two chapters - 1) Sets, Relations and Functions, and 2) Statistics.
A few topics have been added to the below chapters : Algebra: Statement of the fundamental theorem of algebra.
Matrices: Elementary row and column transformations, adjoint of a matrix.
Probability: Random experiment, sample space, different types of events (impossible, simple, compound), total probability.
Analytical Geometry: Three dimensions - Distance between two points, skew lines, shortest distance between two lines, angle between two lines, the angle between two planes, the angle between a line and the plane, and coplanar lines.
Topics Removed (Excluded) From JEE Advanced 2023 Math Syllabus: Trigonometry: Relations between sides and angles of a triangle, sine rule, cosine rule, half-angle formula and the area of a triangle.
Differential Calculus: Real valued functions of a real variable.
In chemistry, nuclear chemistry has been removed and certain amendments have been made to the biochemistry and physical chemistry parts. In mathematics, harmonic progression and solution of triangles have been removed, and topics like statistics, fundamentals of algebra and quadratic equations have been added.
The syllabus will remain the same for all the three exams - Boards, JEE Main and JEE Advanced, which I believe the students will be slightly relieved and feel less burdened.
